Karen D’Lauro

A native of Malvern, PA, Karen D’Lauro, DVM earned her BA from Hollins College and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine. She spent years as a private practice veterinarian before joining the emergency team in 2018. Outside of work, Dr. D’Lauro spends time riding horses- predominantly dressage and combined training. She also participates in endurance sports- she is a multiple-time Ironman Triathlon competitor! She lives with her husband, also a vet, their cat Irene, and their dog Elliot.

Dietrich Franczuszki

Dr. Franczuszki completed his veterinary education at Ludwig Maximillians University in Munich, Germany, followed by an internship and surgical residency, after which he was asked to remain as Assistant Professor of Veterinary Surgery. After receiving his accreditation in veterinary surgery in Germany, he moved to the U.S. with his family and completed his second surgical residency at Kansas State University, where he earned his MS degree in small animal surgery.

Dr. Franczuszki is one of the most distinguished orthopedic surgeons in Pennsylvania, earning his reputation by successfully performing thousands of even the most complicated veterinary orthopedic procedures. He has extensive training in veterinary orthopedics and neurosurgery, and is certified in knee and hip replacement surgery.

Dr. Franczuszki is an active member of the Veterinary Orthopedic Society and the American Veterinary Orthopedic Research and Education (AVORE) Association. He is also President of the Eastern Veterinary Orthopedic Society (EVOS).

Justin Guinan

A native of Westchester County, New York; Justin Guinan, DVM, DACVIM (SA-IM) began his veterinary career in 2000 with a BS in biology from Syracuse University, followed by a DVM degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College in 2005. Later that year, Dr. Guinan enrolled in a yearlong general internship program, followed by another yearlong specialty internship program in internal medicine and neurology at Long Island Veterinary Specialists. In 2009, he went on to complete his residency in small animal internal medicine at the Animal Medical Center in New York City.

With years of experience, education, and a board certification under his belt, Dr. Guinan worked at a large specialty and emergency veterinary hospital in New Jersey for several years before joining the VRC team in 2017.  His clinical interests include hematology, endocrinology, ultrasonography, and all forms of diagnostic endoscopy. Outside of work, Dr. Guinan enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons, baseball, football, hiking, and music.

Dr. Guinan offers outpatient ultrasound by appointment.

Emiliana R. Hennelly

Dr. Hennelly hails from northern New Jersey, where she grew up on an equestrian farm. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry at Montclair State University. She then pursued her degree in veterinary medicine at the University of Tennessee. After a rotating internship at Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners in New York City, she completed the Emergency & Critical Care Residency Training Program at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, MA.

Board certified, Dr. Hennelly is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care and her interests include respiratory medicine, infectious disease, coagulation, and trauma.

Outside of work, Dr. Hennelly enjoys spending quality time with her husband Michael and pug Bowie, and has aspirations to visit every baseball stadium in the country.
