Michaela Gruenheid, DVM, MS earned her Degree of Veterinary Medicine equivalent after attending schools in both Hungary and Germany. Dr. Gruenheid then completed several externships in the United States before moving back to Germany and working at two veterinary referral hospitals.
In 2014, she was offered the international surgical scholar position at Michigan State University and after several months was offered a surgical internship at Washington State University. She went on to complete a residency in small animal surgery at The Ohio State University before joining VRC in 2018.
Dr. Gruenheid’s clinical interests include all orthopedic procedures, minimally invasive surgeries (laparoscopy and arthroscopy), and brachycephalic airway surgery. Her hobbies include traveling, yoga, horseback riding, and spending time with her husband and their dog. She has lectured in many conferences throughout Germany and the US and will continue to do so at VRC.
